Ideas that Save Composition Teachers Time

A workshop presented by Dr. Keith Folse
Friday, October 12th, 2007

George Mason University
7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M.

Arlington Original Building, Room 329

In traditional writing classes, students write and teachers grade.  While everyone agrees students need to write a lot to improve their writing, what happens when you collect all of this writing?   Grading all those papers is a burden on an already busy teacher’s schedule. Teachers need another teaching template besides this traditional “I assign, you write, I get stuck grading.”  Learners, especially adult learners, rightfully expect meaningful feedback.  In this session, the presenter will demonstrate classroom activities and teacher techniques to help reduce teacher grading time while maximizing student writing time.
